I have created two web sites. Both sites were composed using Tripod. The reason for two is the memory issue. I
was running out of memory on my initial site. My first site is called the Art
Department -- jrgault.tripod.com and the second one is Visual Arts Resources – SDMS – artsdms.tripod.com.
They are linked to each other in a couple of places.
The Art Department web site includes information about me, my school, 7th and 8th grade classes,
curriculum and gallery. The Visual Arts Resources – SDMS site includes lessons, vocabulary, principles of design, elements
of art, objectives, outcomes other worksheets and production instructions. (My
focus was the lesson for Figurative Sculpture.)
The development of both of these was not that difficult – it was
a lot of trial and error. I had a few problems trying to get a PowerPoint presentation
uploaded. I finally gave up and recreated it on a separate page. I had the same problem with a vocabulary worksheet. I had
the worksheet created on another web site and could not get a link to it. I ended up creating another page for that too. I think it worked out ok, but I really need to figure why I could not get it.
Tripod was also my web-hosting server. I had relatively few problems with
it and I probably could have been even more creative – Tripod has a lot to offer – but time was key.
